please email me at: sivansegev@live.com 1. OS version 2. source of installer you used (this blog or other) 3. screen shot of details tab, at properties of "FreeStocksTicker.exe" executable at "c:\program files (x86)\Free Stocks Ticker" 4. the file "stocksTicker options.xml" at your documents folder
As it turns out, the version I had downloaded from SoftPedia was not the latest (even though it was listed as 1.9.3). After upgrading to 1.9.3, the memory leak is fixed. Thanks!
One minor thing I noticed is that the ticker is showing the NASDAQ change as down by 18.26, but actually was down by 18.27.
just for everyone else's knowledge, turns out Softpedia has an older version on their site. If you have a memory leak issue - do download latest version from this site.
One more thing noticed: price data for the DOW index (DIA) is incorrect. This is due to Yahoo! Finance no longer providing price data for the Dow via their API.
Your program is instead providing price data for the "Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust Fund", whose symbol is actually DIA.
You'll need to find another source for DOW price data.
Today I found an issue which the 1st running text is not running...but when u drag them there's news / stocks ...only they are stand still not running...i try to uninstall and reinstall it still same...any solution to this?
feed addresses and services might cease, or change protocols. As of today (10/9) I can still read the fox news feed though. If one feed stops working, seek alternatives on the web, and add it as a custom one.

ReplyDeleteSeems to be a memory leak. Starts off using about 15MB, and after a few hours it was using over a gig. Memory usage continues to climb.
ReplyDeleteAre you experiencing the memory leak with the latest version? 1.9.3?
DeleteYes. I'll try to post some screen shots showing memory usage.

This has been announced before. ^DJI isn't available and as a surrogate I suggest people use the DIA ETF
