  1. Hi Sivan!

I like very much your Stocks Ticker application, very elegant, simply and clean. I'm using it for testing purposes, studing carreer and programing rss exercises. I want to ask you a problem. I'm editing a rss.xml file linked like a rss feed in yor application, but new rss block entries in the xml file doesn't refresh. I change rss refresh time in 'Setup/RSS Feeds/Seconds to refresh feeds' to the minimum seconds, but nothing happens when I modify rss.xml file. Even when I click 'Refresh' button (the rss logo button) nothing happens. The only way is to enter again in 'Setup' and click OK to force your app reads again xml file. Is there a way to get a faster refresh of the ticker information when xml file change? Thanks!!!!!!!!

    1. when you refresh, an HTTP call is made to read the RSS feed again. It is possible the server is providing a cahced version

  2. Hi Sivan. I think it's no a cache problem. It has a curious behaviour:
-I can see in Apache Logs that every x seconds, your app is reading rss.xml file, but when I stop Apache Services, ticker bar is still showing the same information, even expired refresh time.
-When I click in 'Refresh' option (that with rss icon) nothing happen. Same 'old' information in ticker bar and Apache server is still stopped.
-The only way to 'force' a real refresh, is entering in 'Setup' menu. It's no necesary to change any parameter. It's enough clicking OK button
-With no info in ticker bar, and Apache stopped, your app works correctly only once, the first time when I start Apache Server. Then, from no info in ticker bar, it begins to show the rss.xml info.

But again, every change I make in Rss.xml, or Stopping Apache Server, ticker bar doesn't refesh info...

  3. Thank you for your development time on this application, I do have a significant problem though, the application continues to consume memory on the machine without releasing any back to the system. Looks like you have a memory management problem. :-(

Currently I run it on a Windows 7 machine setup as a HTPC and security camera video recorder - it runs 24/7 and is heavily used. When viewing the program in the windows resource monitor I can observe your program consuming memory until its options menu is used. Now this computer has a great deal of memory and so I can get by with restarting it every so often, however, this is not an ideal situation (as I'm sure you understand).

If you have time please take a look at releasing memory back to the system every so often - I cannot believe this program needs gigs of RAM as it runs.

    Thanks!

    2. Your latest update (1.9.3) fixed the memory problem. Program doesn't use Gigs of RAM anymore.

      Cheers!

P.S. How about an "About" menu item? Somewhere the version number could be seen, unable to tell what version you're running from the program itself.
