To provide the best experience for all our users, we monitor for suspicious activity and overload. We reserve the right to revoke access to anyone who abuses the IEX API. We throttle endpoints by IP, but you should be able to achieve over 100 requests per second
Free-Stocks-Ticker has for a long time throttled and limited access to rapid refresh due to potential issues with data source.

Hmmm I don't see the numbers moving real-time while scrolling like the Chrome Extension.
ReplyDeleteThe query gets a real time data, vs the delayed 20 minutes data. It doesn't continuously update it, only on refresh which is adjustable as minuts.

DeleteIt is adjusted by minutes, with a minimum of 1 minute. You can change on the setup dialog or on the settings xml file.
DeleteIs it "minutesToRefreshFeed"? It won't let me go below 4. And is there any chance it can be change to seconds?
ReplyDeleteThe UI limits it to 4. If you edit the XML before running the app you can set it to 1. The value used to rely on seconds, but was changed to avoid too rapid data refresh. That was done to avoid being penalized by the data source for violation of terms of service, and was done a long time ago with relevance to previous source. The source currently has a special service for streaming updates, separate from quote service. It is not in use here, and I'm not sure if I'll pursue later or not.
